Mahogany Dolphin Family Sculpture

One day Buzzy was approached by a client from Las Vegas, who was building a house on Saint Helena Island. This client wanted something very special for his new wife — the woman he was supposed to have married thirty-five years ago. After separating and leading full lives on their own, they decided to pick up where they left off just a few years ago. Before they knew it, they were married!

Knowing how much his wife loved dolphins, he wanted to surprise her with a very special gift of a wooden sculpture of dolphins. After he gave Buzzy the approximate dimensions, he started on this immediately.

The final product became a gorgeous family of three dolphins — male, female, and baby. This one-of-a-kind sculpture was made from traditional Honduran Mahogany. See the process below starting from templating and gluing, to using a chainsaw to trim, video details, sanding, final finish, and final install.
