Introduction to Bill Bosworth and
W. D. Bosworth Woodworking and Sculpture

Sculpture and master woodworker William D. Bosworth, "Buzzy" is the principal artist of W. D. Bosworth Woodworking and Sculpture. Since the age of 18, Buzzy has fulfilled his artful vision through sculpting and his self-taught woodworking talents. He has owned and operated woodworking businesses in and around his hometown of Newport, Rhode Island and now, for the past ten years, in Beaufort, South Carolina.

Buzzy originally developed his career as a pattern maker. Twenty-four years of fabricating functional objects have enabled him to reach a high level of expertise and quality in his art. His experience ranges from custom-designed furniture and cabinets, architectural millwork, reproductions of antiques, the construction of a 688 Class submarine mock-up facility, and classified work for the U.S. Navy. Buzzy also develops prototypes for manufacturers and entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas, but no effective method of implementing them and offers design services for those who have an idea of what they want, but need a little help with the fine details. He has transformed many an idea into tangible objects that are not only beautiful, but represent a wise investment.

Sculpting has always been woven amongst his woodworking endeavors. Some years ago, he extended his ambitions to sculpt on a full-time basis by founding a nonprofit corporation, the Environmental Art Association, which now has fused with his woodworking business to become W. D. Bosworth Woodworking and Sculpture. A career as an artists and craftsman has proven to Buzzy that anything imagined can be created.

Buzzy's newest endeavor includes the design and production of quality Mahogany garden furniture inspired by his wife's love of gardening and the Lowcountry way of life. A few of these pieces can be seen on a 19 part series filmed for the Home and Garden Television Network called Modern Masters. Soon to come is a limited edition line of wooden toys and a line of small, accent furniture pieces for the home.
